101Investing review 2020: Buying Crypto CFDs – test and our experience

In this article we introduce to you the CFD broker 101Investing and examine whether the broker, which just went online in June, is a trusted and safer alternative to established brokers such as eToro or Plus500.

About 101Investing

101Investing is a new CFD broker that aims to shake up the market of established brokers and offers access to more than 250 CFDs on its platform, including forex, cryptocurrencies, commodities, stocks and indices. The company behind the platform is a subsidiary of FXBFI Broker Financial Invest Ltd, a Cyprus based company regulated and supervised by the Cyprus Financial Supervisory Authority.

The available leverage corresponds to the legal requirements of CySEC and are as follows:

  • 30:1 for major currency pairs;
  • 20:1 for non-major currency pairs, gold and major indices;
  • 10:1 for commodities other than gold and non-key stock indices;
  • 5:1 for individual shares and other reference values;
  • 2:1 for cryptocurrencies.

A big advantage of the broker is that the minimum deposit is very low compared to many other brokers and is just 100 US dollars. Another positive aspect is that the 101Investing website is available in English, German, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.

Is 101Investing trustworthy and secure?

101Investing is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, better known as CySEC, the Financial Supervisory Authority of Cyprus. As an EU member state, the financial regulations and operations of CySEC comply with the European Financial Harmonisation Law MiFID, which means that 101Investing is subject to the strict legislation of the European Union. For this reason alone, 101Investing appears to be a very trustworthy broker.

The company behind the trading platform, FXBFI Broker Financial Invest Ltd, is authorised and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission under licence number 315/16. The CySEC Regulation gives FXBFI Broker Financial Invest Ltd and its broker 101Investing the right to provide cross-border services to other members of the European Economic Area. The address of the company is 13 & 15 Grigori Afxentiou str. IDE Ioannou Court, 3rd floor, office,301, 4003 Limassol. With this information 101Investing is very transparent, which is another argument for the trustworthiness of the broker.

Under the terms of the CySEC, 101Investing is also a member of the Investor Compensation Fund (ICF) for clients of Cypriot Investment Firms (CIFs). The main function of the ICF is to compensate the covered clients for any claims arising from a member of the ICF failing to meet its obligations to its clients, whether such obligation arises from legislation, the client contract or from the misconduct of the ICF member.

All in all, there are strong arguments for 101Investing being a serious and trustworthy broker.

It should also be noted that an account that is not active has to pay an inactivity fee. This is charged in connection with maintenance, administration and compliance management and is structured as follows:
